This piece is Rosenthal's "Alice" pattern. What a gorgeous vintage, double handled tray. The tray, not including the double handles measures approx. 9 3/4". On a background of dark cobalt, fading to pale blue, are lacey looking what I believe to be Chrysanthemums. The Chrysanthemums vary in colors ranging from a dark pink to white along with a pale golden yellow one. There are fine, hand painted enameled sprays at the right hand side. The gold, inmold design does have some age related wear, mostly to the outside edge. There is also some very light wear to several of the higher elevations of the plate design..very light, but I list them for accuracy. There are no chips or cracks. Plate is marked with the Rosenthal mark as shown, as well as the pattern name "Alice", Bavaria and a hand number of 3674/12. The mark dates to 1898-1906. A gorgeous plate to take the center of attention to your collection!
